December 14-16, 2007: Presentation on "Intercultural Improvisation: Lessons from John Cage" at the annual conference of the International Society for Improvised Music (Northwestern University, Evanston).

October 25-28, 2007: Presentation on "Dhanashree Pandit-Rai's Hindustani-Jazz Collaborations" at the 52nd annual conference of the Society for Ethnomusicology (Ohio State University, Columbus); part of a panel on "Rhythm, Tradition and Innovation: Jazz and Improvisation in Cuba, India, Peru" chaired by Julian Gerstin, Keene State College/Marlboro College.

teaching
Since 2006: Associate professor of music at Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, Texas. Directing ensembles: Orquesta Vista (Latin jazz band), Northwest Winds (wind ensemble), and Vista Voices (chamber choir). Teaching improvisation, aural skills, voice, and flute.
